Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Cadence Running LLC (“Cadence,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) processes when you use the Cadence iOS app, cadencerun.app, and related subscription services.
Effective and last updated: August 8, 2026
1. Information we process
Information you provide
- Your name or handle, goals, preferences, alarm schedule, chosen run days, and onboarding answers.
- Photos you choose or capture for your profile, sharing, or Run Alarm proof.
- Your email address when you purchase on the web, redeem web access in the app, contact support, or request deletion.
- Messages and other information you send to support.
Run, fitness, and device information
- Run time, distance, pace, route, elevation, cadence, heart-rate summaries, and related workout metrics.
- Precise location during active runs, including in the background when you grant that permission.
- Motion activity used to improve tracking and verify qualifying Run Alarm activity.
- Your Screen Time app/category selections and enforcement state. Apple provides selections through Family Controls in an opaque form; Cadence does not receive a readable history of your activity inside other apps.
- Alarm, notification, app version, device, operating-system, diagnostics, and feature-usage information.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Cadence may read sleep analysis, resting and workout heart rate, heart-rate variability, VO₂ max, body mass, walking/running distance, active energy, and workouts. Cadence may write completed running workouts, distance, and active energy. Apple Health data is used only for health and fitness features and is not used for advertising.
Strava
If you connect Strava, we process your Strava connection status and imported activity details such as start time, distance, duration, elevation, route summary, heart rate, cadence, sport type, and splits. Strava authorization tokens are kept in our server-side provider functions rather than in the Cadence app.
2. Website onboarding
The mobile web onboarding saves your progress and answers in your browser’s local storage as you move through the funnel.
Before checkout we ask for your email address so we can send your activation link. When you continue to checkout, Cadence saves that email together with your onboarding answers — your first name, sex, how you heard about Cadence, your four quiz answers, your selected alarm days and time, and whether you signed the pledge — to our Supabase database, so the Cadence app can restore your plan after you purchase instead of asking you the same questions again. The drawn signature image itself is never uploaded; we store only whether a pledge was signed.
Cadence also sends your first name, email, selected alarm days and time, onboarding status, a reference to your saved onboarding record, and incoming campaign parameters to our Superwall-hosted checkout URL.
Local onboarding data is cleared from your browser once your answers have been saved successfully, or when you restart the flow. Saved onboarding records are linked to your Cadence account when you sign in, and are deleted when you delete your account.
3. How we use information
- Provide run tracking, alarms, app blocking, streaks, coaching, sharing, and connected-service features.
- Verify qualifying activity and unlock selected apps after a completed Run Alarm challenge.
- Process, restore, and manage subscriptions and entitlements.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, provide support, and comply with law.
- Understand aggregate onboarding, lifecycle, and feature usage so we can improve Cadence.
4. Local storage and proof photos
Cadence stores core profile, run, progression, and settings data on your device using Apple storage technologies. SwiftData cloud mirroring is disabled in the current version. Run Alarm proof photos are kept in the app’s local shared container only as needed to complete the challenge or build the resulting post, then deleted when the challenge finishes, is skipped, or resets. A photo you deliberately save or share may remain wherever you chose to send it.
5. Analytics
Cadence uses PostHog for limited product analytics. We send event names and properties such as screen or onboarding-step names, feature names, counts, durations, enum values, and booleans. We do not intentionally send your name, email, proof photos, free-text entries, or precise GPS route to PostHog. Session replay is disabled. The analytics service may also process an anonymous identifier, device/app metadata, and network information such as an IP address as part of delivering the service.
6. Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information only as needed to operate Cadence, at your direction, or as required by law. Our principal providers include:
- Apple for App Store purchases, HealthKit, notifications, AlarmKit, Family Controls, and other iOS services.
- Superwall for paywalls, subscription entitlement handling, and web-to-app redemption.
- Stripe for web checkout, billing, invoices, and subscription management.
- Supabase for anonymous backend sessions and Strava connection, import, and verification services.
- PostHog for limited product analytics.
- Strava when you choose to connect your Strava account.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, to provide an active connection or subscription, and to meet legal, tax, fraud-prevention, and accounting obligations. Local app data remains until you remove it, delete the app, or request deletion where applicable. We use access controls, encrypted transport, scoped credentials, and service-provider safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
- Change or revoke Camera, Photos, Motion, Location, Notifications, Health, or Screen Time access in iOS Settings.
- Disconnect Strava from Cadence or Strava.
- Manage web billing through our subscription page, or Apple billing through your App Store subscription settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion by following our account deletion instructions or emailing us.
Depending on where you live, local law may provide additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
9. Children, international processing, and changes
Cadence is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, subject to appropriate safeguards. We may update this policy as Cadence changes. We will post the updated version here and change the effective date; material changes may also be communicated in the app or by another appropriate method.
