Terms of Use
These Terms form an agreement between you and Cadence Running LLC for use of Cadence, Cadence Pro, cadencerun.app, and related services.
Effective and last updated: August 8, 2026
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using Cadence, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Cadence. You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must approve your use.
2. What Cadence provides
Cadence is a fitness and accountability product that can schedule alarms, restrict selected apps through Apple Screen Time frameworks, track runs, connect fitness services, and provide educational coaching, goals, streaks, estimates, and other motivational features. Features may vary by device, operating system, permissions, region, plan, and third-party availability.
3. Safety and health
Cadence is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency monitoring, or guaranteed fitness results. Training suggestions, readiness signals, pace estimates, scores, predictions, research summaries, and reminders are educational only.
- Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning or changing an exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, are injured, or have concerns about exercise.
- Stop exercising and seek appropriate help if you feel pain, faintness, shortness of breath beyond normal exertion, or other concerning symptoms.
- Stay aware of traffic, weather, terrain, people, and your surroundings. Do not look at or operate your phone while moving when it is unsafe.
- Cadence’s alarms, app restrictions, GPS, motion verification, and emergency-unlock features may fail, be delayed, or behave differently because of permissions, battery, connectivity, device state, iOS behavior, or third-party outages. Do not rely on Cadence for emergencies or access to essential services.
4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
Cadence Pro is offered as an automatically renewing subscription. Current web offers are $19.99 per month with no trial, or $79.99 per year with a 3-day free trial, unless a different price or trial is clearly shown before purchase. Prices may vary by platform, territory, currency, taxes, promotion, or future offer.
- Annual trial: If eligible, you are charged $0 at signup and the annual price when the 3-day trial ends unless you cancel before the trial expires.
- Renewal: Your payment method is charged automatically at each billing interval until canceled.
- Web purchases: Stripe processes payment and Superwall helps provide access. Manage or cancel through the Cadence subscription page.
- App Store purchases: Apple processes payment. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. Apple’s payment and refund rules apply.
- Cancellation: Cancellation stops future renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Canceling does not retroactively refund charges or partially used periods except where required by law or provided by the billing platform.
We may change prices prospectively with any notice or consent required by the billing platform or applicable law.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your device and billing access secure, use Cadence lawfully, and respect third-party rights. You may not reverse engineer or interfere with Cadence except where law permits, bypass subscription or access controls, submit fraudulent run or proof data, probe or disrupt our systems, use Cadence to harm another person, or resell the service without written permission.
6. Your content and connected services
You retain ownership of photos, profile information, run content, and other material you submit. You give us a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate and improve the features you request. You are responsible for having the rights to content you share.
Apple, Stripe, Superwall, Strava, Supabase, PostHog, and other third-party services have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, changes, outages, or account actions. You can disconnect optional services at any time.
7. Intellectual property
Cadence, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, and other materials, is owned by Cadence Running LLC or its licensors and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you a personal, limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use Cadence for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
8. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may add, remove, or change features and may suspend access to protect users, comply with law, address security or abuse, or maintain the service. You may stop using Cadence at any time. We may terminate access for a material breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cadence is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted operation, accuracy, or results. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cadence Running LLC and its members, employees, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, personal injury arising from unsafe use, or inability to access another app or service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to Cadence will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits may not fully apply to you.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not required by law to be heard elsewhere will be brought in the state or federal courts with jurisdiction over Somerset County, New Jersey, and you and Cadence consent to those courts. Nothing in this section limits consumer rights that cannot be waived.
11. General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about Cadence. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale. We may update these Terms and will post the revised version with a new effective date. Continued use after the update means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
